I guess it is because most people know Holmes from TV and there he is depicted as a softspoken gentleman. Bare-knuckle boxing does not fit in this picture.</description>

If you want to be really exact about it, now would be the "classical steampunk era" provided there will one day be a second wave or a rennaissance of steampunk.

In any case, I see that the words I chose may be a bit unfortunate but I am not going to alter them in this post, otherwise later readers will be confused about this discussion here.</description>

		<description>What you call "classical steampunk era" wasn't steampunk. Verne and Wells were writing scientific romances - kind of Victoarian futuristic fiction, as opposed to steampunk which is a contemporary retro-futuristic fiction.</description>
