Zeppelin image
27.9.2009 by Traveler.
I am currently writing a review of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow for the next edition of the famed and esteemed Gathouse Gazette. Since the Hindenburg III dominates the opening scene and it has been a while since I posted a Zeppelin image, I can catch two birds with one stone here (i.e. catching up on writing stuff in my blog and posting an image of a Zeppelin):

Yet more propaganda
26.9.2009 by Traveler.
Although this time it’s rather tongue-in-cheek and taken from Inglorious Basterds, one of the best movies of the last 5 years and the best I’ve seen and most fun since The Return of the King.
PROPAGANDA!

And the whole plot is so weird and the alternate history created so bizarre, it’s almost Dieselpunk on acid.

The Zeppelin Museum V - Mission to Africa
8.9.2009 by Traveler.
As I have announced before, here are some images concerning the long voyage of L 104 in 1917. It was a planned relief mission to the outnumbered (but very successful) troops of Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck in Deutsch-Ostafrika. The mission was cancelled befor completion, though because it was judged that the relief mission would not be able to turn the situation in Africa in Germany’s favor.
Still, the journey of 6757 km from Bulgaria to Africa and back (done in 95 hours and 5 minutes) was quite a feat.
Here is an image of the route and the crew (what an adventure this surely was…):

This is the penultimate entry concerning the Zeppelin Museum, there are some other images I’d like to share, including a Cthulhu-esque Zeppelin skelleton (does not sound as if it would make sense? Don’t worry, it won’t).
